Information about the SAF Journals

The Society of American Foresters (SAF), a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) membership organization headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, is the owner of Journal of Forestry, Forest Science, Western Journal of Applied Forestry, Southern Journal of Applied Forestry, and Northern Journal of Applied Forestry. Journal of Forestry and Forest Science are published by Oxford University Press on behalf of SAF.

Public access to SAF's online journals is generally limited to article abstracts and tables of contents. Full online access is restricted to SAF members (as part of their membership dues) and other subscribers. Users of and subscribers to the online publications of the Society of American Foresters agree to abide by the following guidelines:

1. Individuals using SAF's online journals may view, download, or store copies of journal articles provided that the articles are to be used only for personal use, such as in teaching or research. Copying or downloading of an entire issue of any journal is prohibited.
2. For permissions beyond that described above, including multiple or systematic reproductions or to republish material (including text, figures, and tables – either in whole or in part), contact the Copyright Clearance Center at www.copyright.com.
3. Article reprints and e-prints are available for purchase via http://oupmediainfo.com/#!/reprints-eprints.
   Any uses and/or copies of an SAF journal article – either in whole or in part – must include the customary bibliographic citation, including author attribution, date, article title, Society of American Foresters, and a link to the final printed version on the Oxford University Press website.
   Personal accounts and/or passwords may not be shared with other individuals, institutions, or organizations.
4. Violation of the above may result in immediate termination of online access.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The entire liability of SAF whether in contract, tort, by statute or otherwise to the Subscriber and Authorized Users shall be the refund of any fees paid to SAF. In no circumstances will SAF be liable for damages including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or corruption of data, loss of programs, loss of business, goodwill, or other incidental, consequential, or indirect losses of any nature arising out of the use, or inability to use SAF databases. SAF will not be liable for any losses arising from any errors, omissions, or other inaccuracies in or corruption caused in the SAF databases, whether caused by transmission processing or otherwise to the Titles provided online or otherwise made accessible.
