Exam
Is the exam accepted by state boards of licensure?
Currently, the exam is accepted by the South Carolina State Board of Registration for Foresters and the Board officially uses the exam as a component for state licensure. However, all applicants must meet the state requirements for licensure and receive approval from the Board.
What is the passing score for the CF exam?
Because not every candidate sits for the same form or version of the exam, the score for each form or version will differ. The "scaled score" is a way of putting all scores, regardless of the version of the exam a candidate takes or the total number of items on the exam, on the same scale or frame of reference. We use scaled scores that range from 0 (0 items correct) to 100 (all items correct). A passing scaled score is 75.
Does the exam have regional questions?
No, specific regional questions were avoided during the development of the exam. The exam was tested to ensure that questions were not biased to a specific region.
What is allowed in the exam room?
Individuals may only bring a non-programmable calculator into the exam room. A formula sheet and blank paper will also be provided to all candidates and must be returned after test completion.
