The SAF Science Fund is designed to advance forestry and encourage collaboration by conducting and/or supporting forestry research, continuing education activities, and the transfer of knowledge.

In August 2015, we lost a champion for this program: Dr. Kurt Gottschalk. He advocated for the Science Fund to be a well of support for scientific work. Now SAF has reimagined the Science Fund in his name and his vision. The Kurt Gottschalk Science Fund will build on its mission and “recruit, engage, develop, and diversify SAF’s membership and the next cadre of leaders in natural resources.”

Every dollar you donate will be doubled courtesy of a $250,000 matching grant. Whether from an individual, group, or company, donations will directly contribute to the program. Your support will help ignite science and research — and honor a hero of forestry.
