Association Ambassador Program

Purpose

The Society Ambassadors program is designed to reward members for their recruiting efforts. It's also intended to improve retention of newer members by providing them with an Ambassador to welcome them and shepherd them through their first critical years of membership. This is in support of what local units do.

How it works

To be an Society Ambassador, you must be a SAF member for five years continuously and volunteer to recruit new members. You must also be willing to have new members assigned to you, if they come in without an Ambassador. When someone joins the organization, they will be given their Ambassador's name and contact information.

You just need to call on the new members, welcome them, answer questions, meet them at events and encourage their participation. During renewal time, we ask that you help encourage these members to renew their dues.

The National Office must know whom you are "guiding." This is to make sure that every new member has an Ambassador. Assigned members will come from the National office as well.

The Rewards

Every member you "guide," gains you recognition. Not only will you be listed in the Forestry Source and SAF's website, but you will also win prizes.

Additionally, during the SAF National Convention you will be awarded during a special ceremony where you will be recognized for your efforts. Then on Jan. 1 each year, you start fresh.

The REAL Reward

The real reward for your participation is the strengthening of our organization. Your work helps ensure we will continue to be successful and a valuable entity to the forestry profession.
