Terms and Conditions for SAF Journals
The Society of American Foresters(SAF), a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) membership organization headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, is the publisher of print and online versions of Journal of Forestry, Forest Science, Western Journal of Applied Forestry, Southern Journal of Applied Forestry, and Northern Journal of Applied Forestry.Public access to SAF's online journals is limited to abstracts and tables of contents. Current subscribers have access to the full online version of their subscribed journal at no additional cost; current members of the Society of American Foresters have print and online access to the Journal of Forestry as part of their membership dues. Subscribers may activate their online subscription using their subscriber number through www.ingenta.com.
Users of and subscribers to the online publications of the Society of American Foresters agree to abide by the following terms and conditions, in addition to the those set out in the Proprietary Rights Notice.
Terms and Conditions
- Individuals using SAF's online journals may view, download, or store copies of journal articles provided that the articles are to be used only for personal use, such as in teaching or research. Copying or downloading of an entire issue of any journal is prohibited.
- For copying and distribution permissions beyond that described above, contact the Copyright Clearance Center at www.copyright.com. An order form for black-and-white reprints of articles can be found at www2.sheridan.com/reprints/saforder.htm; for color reprints, contact SAF at gravesn@safnet.org.
- For republication (including electronic) or systematic or multiple reproduction of copyrighted material (including figures), contact the Copyright Clearance Center at www.copyright.com.
- Any uses and or copies of an SAF journal article in whole or in part must include the customary bibliographic citation, including author attribution, date, article title, Society of American Foresters, and the URL www.safnet.org/publications/jof/index.cfm.
- Personal accounts and/or passwords may not be shared with other individuals or institutions.
- Violation of these terms and conditions will result in immediate termination of online access by the Society of American Foresters.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The entire liability of SAF whether in contract, tort, by statute or otherwise to the Subscriber and Authorized Users shall be the refund of any fees paid to SAF. In no circumstances will SAF be liable for damages including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or corruption of data, loss of programs, loss of business, goodwill, or other incidental, consequential, or indirect losses of any nature arising out of the use, or inability to use SAF databases. SAF will not be liable for any losses arising from any errors, omissions, or other inaccuracies in or corruption caused in the SAF databases, whether caused by transmission processing or otherwise to the Titles provided online or otherwise made accessible.
Opinions expressed by authors do not necessarily reflect the policy of the Society of American Foresters. Descriptions of, or references to, products or publications does not imply endorsement of that product or publication.
SAF may make changes in the publications and programs at any time. There is no guarantee that the information contained in the online version of the journals is identical to the print version of the journals and SAF does not have any duty to update the information contained on the online versions to correct errors or otherwise.
