SAF Leads Coalition Letter Supporting US Forest Service R&D

April 4, 2019

Continuing our focus on Fiscal Year 2020 appropriations, SAF led a coalition supporting funding for an array of programs in the US Forest Service Research and Development Deputy Area. The letter, signed by 39 diverse organizations, was sent to the Chair and Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies. We expect to add more organizations to this list before sending the letter to the Senate Appropriations Committee at the end of this month.

Supporting funding for US Forest Service Research and Development is a policy priority for SAF. Forest Service R&D programs inform policy and land-management decisions and practices that improve the health and use of the nation’s forests and grasslands. With funding support, R&D leaders and scientists can better provide relevant and timely information and effectively deliver assistance to all users of this important information.
