Forest Cover Types of the United States and Canada
An invaluable resource. The perfect primer. Ideal for classroom use.
There’s a reason why
Forest Cover Types
has been a go-to resource since 1980. This title classifies and organizes the forests of the United States (exclusive of Hawaii) and Canada into distinct geographic regions, providing easy-to-understand descriptions to help the new or future forestry professional gain an understanding of the relationship between the species of the forests and their locations. As Eyre puts it, this book captures “what the land manager finds on the ground and must deal with.” The ability to classify cover types was of highest importance then, and continues to be a needed skill today.
