This program aims to intentionally bring together students from underrepresented groups in forestry and natural resources to help them navigate, grow, and thrive in the profession. Through mentoring and engagement opportunities throughout the year, each cohort will develop leadership and networking skills and create community among each other and the broader SAF network. To promote the forestry profession for future generations, Resource Management Service, LLC and SAF are jointly sponsoring a scholarship program to support students who would benefit from additional financial assistance and students from underrepresented groups earning an undergraduate degree in a forestry-related field. The application period is now closed. Applications will reopen in early 2026.
The Thomas Hill Jr. Education and Opportunity Fund provides scholarships to SAF student members to offset expenses related to attending an undergraduate program in forestry or a related natural resources field. Applications period is closed. The 2025 application cycle will open January 1.
