Join Our Board!

SAF's Board of Directors provides leadership and direction to the SAF to ensure the achievement of its mission. The president, vice-president, immediate past-president, and 11 elected members (one from each voting district) serve on the Board.

Board members serve three-years terms, with several districts electing new directors each year (see rotation below). A vice president is elected every year to a three-year term, serving as vice president, president, and immediate past president.

Nominations for vice president and Districts 3, 6, and 9 for 2021 are being sought. Elections take place in October, with terms beginning January 1. Newly elected members should plan on attending the December 3-5, 2021, SAF Board meeting either virtually or in person in Washington, D.C. for shadowing and orientation.

Interested candidates should complete the consent form (board members or vice president ) and biography form (includes vision statement and photo request) and email to Lori Rasor.

Candidates need to review the SAF Board Policies Manual (BPM) and certify on the consent form their ability and willingness to comply with the BPM. A Board of Directors Job Description is provided here .
