Nominations for vice president and board members for Districts 2, 5, 8, and 11 are open. Elections will take place in October for these positions. 

SAF's Board of Directors provides leadership and direction to the SAF to ensure the achievement of its mission. The president, vice-president, immediate past-president, and 11 elected members (one from each voting district) serve on the Board.

Board members serve three-years terms, with several districts electing new directors each year (see rotation below). A vice president is elected every year to a three-year term, serving as vice president, president, and immediate past president.

Elections take place in October, with terms starting January 1. Newly elected members should plan on attending the December 6-8, 2019, SAF Board meeting in Bethesda, Maryland, in a shadowing capacity. 

Interested candidates should complete the consent form (board members or vice president ) and biography form (includes vision statement and photo request) and email to Lori Rasor.

Candidates need to review the SAF Board Policies Manual (BPM) and certify on the consent form their ability and willingness to comply with the BPM. A Board of Directors Job Description is provided here.

District Board Member Rotation

Election in 2019, starting term in 2020: Districts 2, 5, 8, and 11 -- Nominations due June 1, 2019
Election in 2020, starting term in 2021: Districts 1, 4, 7, 10
Election in 2021, starting term in 2022: Districts 3, 6, and 9

Vice President is voted on an annual basis.
