DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account established at a public charity, allowing donors to make charitable contributions, invest and grow assets, receive tax-deductions for their charitable contributions, and recommend grants to charitable organizations from the fund over time. You can read more about DAFs at these well known public charities: Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable

Do you contribute to a DAF?

You can amplify your giving to SAF by recommending SAF as a recipient of a grant from your DAF at any time in the year!

To recommend SAF for a grant:

1. Log into your DAF account and navigate to the Granting section.

2. Search for "Society of American Foresters" and be sure to double check the Tax ID or EIN: 53-0204630.

3. Enter your details, such as the amount you'd like to recommend and giving schedule.

4. Submit your recommendation and SAF will receive your support!

Donors say that holding DAFs allows them to give more effectively and more consistently to the charities they support.* DAF grants are also meaningful to nonprofits, providing sustaining, impactful support. Thank you for considering this form of giving to SAF! If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected].
