The second edition of Introduction to Consulting Forestry will include emerging technologies and working with landowners of diverse backgrounds. The team of authors and reviewers formed from the ranks of SAF and ACF memberships will be led by Richard “Carbo” Carbonetti. The book will also include business management for a variety of differently sized and structured consulting firms.

“Opportunities and challenges for our nation’s forests and those who own them continue to emerge, requiring the profession of consulting forestry to constantly advance to meet client needs,” said ACF Executive Director Shannon McCabe.  “This collaborative effort to publish the second edition of Introduction to Consulting Forestry underscores the power of partnership by utilizing expertise from members of both organizations to produce a robust resource for both veteran and prospective consulting foresters.”

“Like the systems we manage, our thinking and relationships have to evolve,” said SAF CEO Terry Baker. “Co-creating the second edition of Introduction to Consulting Forestry ensures that this resource will represent what it means to be a consultant facing today’s challenges with strong business acumen and the best available technology!”

“As the profession of forestry develops to meet ongoing challenges, consulting forestry will serve an ever-increasing role in the management of our forests,” said Richard G. Carbonetti, CF, ACF, managing editor of the second edition of Introduction to Consulting Forestry. “SAF and ACF collaboration in the production of this new edition will provide an important source of information for entry level and veteran foresters looking to consulting as a career path. As the leading organizations for foresters, this collaborative effort is a powerful example of how foresters are partnering to ensure that the future of our profession will benefit from this enhanced knowledge.”
