July 6, 2017

The Student Diversity Ambassador Program, sponsored by Bureau of Land Management, Weyerhaeuser, and Sustainable Forestry Initiative, is a year-long program designed to promote leadership skills and create a community for undergraduate or graduate students. Applications are being accepted until September 15.

The program allows students to attend the 2017 SAF National Convention, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in November. While at the convention, Student Diversity Ambassadors will experience a series of activities for developing leadership and networking skills

If accepted into the Program, Student Diversity Ambassadors will receive a stipend to help fund the costs needed to attend the 2017 SAF National Convention. The stipend will cover the cost of registration, tickets to events, and shared hotel accommodations. Following the convention, each Student Diversity Ambassador will participate in an e-mentoring program throughout 2018.

Students will be matched with a mentor who is a natural resource professional. Mentors will be identified based upon the student’s interests and needs.
