Society of American Foresters releases Our Forests, Our Future in celebration of 125th Anniversary

WASHINGTON, D.C.— The Society of American Foresters proudly starts 2025 by celebrating its 125th anniversary year of the organization with the release of its latest publication, Our Forests, Our Future.



More than 20 authors contributed to the curation of this coffee-table style book that lends powerful insight to the forecast of our future by honoring the past that began in 1900. 

"125 years of history brings with it a sense of pride, stability, consistency, and adaptability. It can also bring with it a sense of complacency. While our first 125 years have represented the Society of American Forester's contributions to the profession of forestry and our forests, their repetition will not equate to the same success. As we look to the future, we stand on the great foundation created over the past 125 years. We take that knowledge, experience, and passion to inform how we engage the issues of the day and into the future. I would like to extend the deepest of gratitude on behalf of SAF to our authors. They took up the charge of visiting our past, establishing our present, and inspiring potential futures for our forests and our profession.
