SAF Certified Urban and Community Forester program FAQs:
Why would I earn the Candidate Certified Urban and Community Forester (CCUCF) designation instead of waiting until I’m eligible for the full designation of CUCF?
Earning the CCUCF is a terrific way to showcase your commitment to excellence as you work towards the full designation. SAF’s offering of this opportunity allows those who may not otherwise qualify for a professional designation the chance to prove they are serious about their
continued career growth and trajectory through recertification of continuing education requirements.
I currently hold another comparable certification. Why would I choose to earn my CUCF, too?
The CUCF is intended to be a comprehensive program that complements any comparable certification. Other certifications don’t lose value, but earning the CUCF alongside them is another tool in your resume toolkit to validate your skills.
No need to double up on your continuing education. SAF will accept your ISA and ESA Continuing Forestry Education (CFEs) or Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on a one-for-one basis during recertification periods.
How long is the examination, and where can I take it?
Approved candidates of the CUCF and CCUCF program typically have up to a year to sit for the exam and can test at one of the nationwide Prometric exam testing centers throughout the United States at a time and location of their convenience.
The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions, and candidates have up to three hours to complete it.
For a limited time, SAF is inviting qualified professionals to participate as early exam testers.
