Meet the Fund Series: Foresters' Fund

The Meet the Fund Series returns so our members and supporters can continue to learn the powerful impact SAF funds have on people, SAF units, and communities. Giving to SAF ensures that we can maintain and develop new programming for all served by our organization.

June 8, 2023

The Foresters’ Fund provides funding to local SAF units through the Foresters’ Fund Grant Program. In 2022, 18 grants were awarded to local units to financially support projects and activities that educate communities about forestry professionals and the many ways forests contribute to everyday life.

Some examples of how Foresters’ Fund dollars are being used on the ground include:

  • Mississippi SAF supported Teachers Conservation Workshops in Mississippi, exploring how conservation practices can be integrated into classrooms through forest and natural resources demonstrations and exercises.
  • Inland Empire SAF and Intermountain SAF organized the annual 2023 Forestry Day at the Legislature, presenting current forestry priorities to Idaho state legislators and giving SAF members an opportunity to interact with state leaders.
  • New England SAF hosted a gathering of the Women Foresters Collaborative in Jefferson, Maine. The gathering included breakout sessions and field trips, and focused on strengthening the network among women in New England forestry and related fields.

The Foresters’ Fund is enabling SAF to tell the story of forestry and natural resources professionals.
